About G20 Digital Innovation Network

The purpose, history, transformation, and objectives we aim to achieve.

G20 Digital Innovation Network is a premiere forum to share knowledge, encourage discussion, and build partnerships among global innovation players.

As the world faces the rise of increasingly complex global challenges that ask for the adoption of multilateral responses, collaboration among countries and international innovation ecosystems become imperative.

The G20 holds a strategic role in securing future global economic growth and prosperity. Together, the G20 members represent more than 80 percent of world GDP, 75 percent of international trade, and 60 percent of the world population.

One of the ways to enhance collaborations, the G20 Innovation Network aims to serve as a bridge of cooperation between public and private innovation players, startups, and corporates on a global scale.

Origin of The G20 Digital Innovation Network

Italian G20 Presidency initiated the G20 Innovation League, an event in the framework of G20 which aims to foster cooperation between public and private innovation players, startups, and corporates.

To ensure the development of the G20 Innovation League legacy, the Italian G20 Presidency has committed itself to establishing a Coordination Desk, set within the Italian Trade Agency and operating for 3-5 years in support of the incoming G20 Presidencies.

Sharing the same belief on the importance of cooperation between public and private innovation players, the Indonesian G20 Presidency has agreed to carry out the organization of the G20 Digital Innovation League to advance the legacy of the Italian G20 Presidency.

Indonesians believe in “gotong royong”, a principle that means working together to achieve a common goal. The idea of gotong royong is sharing of burdens between the member of the community.

That principle inspires the transformation of the event name, the G20 Digital Innovation Network, by the Indonesian G20 Presidency, which focuses more on widening the global cooperation between the public and private innovation players.
